Applications are invited for filling up the following vacancies under the Government of Nagaland in the manner prescribed below:
I. Assistant Professor under Higher Education Department | ||

Relaxation in Educational Qualification and Reservation:
1. In respect of the post of Assistant Professor (Biology) under SCTE where the required qualification is MEd has been relaxed to BEd as per Notification NO. HTE/4-1/2002 dated 16.03.2013 subject to the following conditions.
(i) Such candidates shall acquire the necessary qualifications within a period of 5(five) years failing which placement to higher grades and increments of pay shall be withheld.
(ii) The relaxation is applicable only in respect of the subjects where qualified and eligible candidates are not available.
(iii) If qualified candidates are available, only such candidates shall be considered for recruitment.
2. For the post of Lecturers and TRA-Item Nos 7,9,17& 22, professional qualification of BEd. shall be relaxed on the condition that the selected candidates will have to acquire the professional qualification within 5(five) years at their own expenses and arrangements, failing which they will not be eligible for further increment/promotion to the next higher grade.
3. In respect of PGT, candidates not possessing the prescribed BEd. qualification, relaxation shall be admissible to the candidates belonging to the Backward Tribes of Konyak, Chang, Khiamniungan, Yimchunger, Sangtam, Phom, Chakhesang, Pochury and Zeliang and Sumis of Kiphire provided the selected candidates complete the said course within 5(five) years. (Notifications NO.EDS(A)-5/2002 dt 27.10/08, 09/01/2009, 18/11/2009, 10/01/2010 and 18/02/2010). However, in respect of other Naga Tribes, BEd. qualification relaxation shall not be admissible as per School Education Department’s letter No. EDS/HSS/4-1/2008/464 dt. 12.06.2015.
4. The following posts are reserved for BTs mentioned against each of them.
(i) 1(one) post of Lecturer in Political Science (Item No.10) under DIET is reserved for BT.Phom.
(ii) 1(one) post of Lecturer in Sociology (Item No.14) under DIET is reserved for BT.Yimchunger.
(iii) 1(one) post of TRA in Linguistic (Item No.16) under SCERT is reserved for BT.Zeliang.
(iv) 1(one) post of TRA in Mathematics (Item No.17) under SCERT is reserved for BT.Chakhesang.
(v) 1(one) post of PGT in Computer Science (Item No.23) under School Education is reserved for BT.Chang.
SCALE OF PAY:
Item No. 1-3 : P.B. -3 Rs. 15,600-39,100/- +AGP Rs. 6,000/-
Item No. 4-14 : P.B. -3 Rs. 15,600-39,100/- +GP Rs. 5,400/-
Item No. 15-29 : P.B. -2 Rs. 9,300-34,800/- +GP Rs. 4,600/-
AGE LIMIT AS ON 01-01-2016:
Item No. 1-28 : Minimum - 21 yrs. Maximum - 30 yrs.
NOTE:
1. The upper age is relaxable by :
(i) 5 (Five) years for SC/ST Candidates.
(ii) Government Employees will be allowed age relaxation the equal number of years they are in service, subject to a maximum of 5 (Five) years.
(iii) For Physically Handicapped persons, the upper age limit will be permitted relaxation of 10(Ten) years and 3% post reservation will be maintained, wherever applicable as per Government Notification NO.AR-3/ GEN-9/97 dt. 16/01/2008. In order to avail relaxation, a certificate from competent Medical Authority should be submitted along with the application form.
(iv) For Item NO.1-3 further relaxation of 5(Five) years shall be allowed for candidates with Ph.D and M.Phil qualification.
2. 80% of the vacancies are reserved for candidates belonging to (i) any Naga Tribe (ii) Kuki (iii) Kachari (iv) Garo (v) Mikir, provided, such persons are Indigenous Inhabitant of the State of Nagaland. 25% of the vacancies are reserved for the candidates belonging (a) Konyak, (b) Phom, (c) Sangtam, (d) Yimchunger (e) Chang and (f) Khiamnuingan.
Further, the balance12% of the vacancies are reserved for the candidates belonging to (a) Chakhesang (4%) (b) Pochury(2%) (c) Zeliang (4%)and (d) Sumi of Kiphire District (2%) vide Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department Notification NO.RCBT 5/87(Pt-II) dated 14th April, 2011.and 15th June, 2012.
Implementation of reservation for Backward Tribes in the state shall be in accordance with the notification issued vide NO.RCBT 5/87(Pt-II) dt. 04.09.2015.
3. For candidates who are Government Employees and still serving, “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” portion in the Application Form should be signed by the Head of the Department.
4. Application Form (including Pattern of Examination, Syllabus and self-certification) can be downloaded from the Commission’s website at www.npsc.co.in and send the duly filled up Application Form by registered post along with Demand Draft drawn in favour of Secretary, Nagaland Public Service Commission, Kohima, payable at Kohima, being fees for Examination.
5. Syllabus for Linguistic shall be made available shortly.
6. Candidates applying for the post of Functional English, Item No.5 will opt for Functional English as their elective subject.
7. Application form can also be submitted personally in the Commission’s Office on payment of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three hundred) only by cash.
8. Application Forms will not be issued from the office of the Commission.
9. Candidates must submit the following documents:-
(i) 1(One) copy of recent passport size photograph (to be pasted in the appropriate space provided for).
(ii) Original examination fee receipt issued by the Commission/Bank Draft
(iii) Self-Certified/Attested copy of HSLC/Matriculation/Equivalent Admit Card for proof of Date of Birth. No other certificates will be entertained for proof of age.
(iv) Self-Certified/Attested copy of Mark Sheets and Pass certificates of HSLC/ Equivalent and HSSLC/ Equivalent issued by Board/Council.
(v) Self-Certified/Attested copy of Mark Sheets and Pass certificates from Degree onwards till requisite qualification. (Provisional pass certificate must be enclosed if Original Pass Certificate is not issued by the University)
(vi) Self-Certified/Attested copy of Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate (I.I.C.), SC/ST,BT Certificate (if applicable). Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate, S.C/S.T & B.T Certificates should be signed only by District Authority not below the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner.
10. For Applications submitted by registered post, a relaxation of 7(seven) days is granted, provided it is dispatched by post on or before the last date of submission and addressed to the Secretary, N.P.S.C.
11. Incomplete Application in any respect (Including unsigned/forged signature) and or applications received after the closing date shall be summarily rejected.
12. The written examination is tentatively scheduled to be held in the 3rd week of August, 2016.
13. The last date for submission of application Form is 14th July, 2016.
